Population – 1,200,000. Founded in 1005. Being the capital of the Tatar Republic, this is the unofficial capital of multiconfessional unity of Russia. Where else you can meet the Orthodox Cathedral and the main Mosque within one Kremlin fortress. Though so ancient, Kazan looks like a very young and modern city. What you know: the Volga river, Universiade 2013, tartars, Volga bulgars, Ivan the Terrible as the conqueror of Kazan, Bauman street,… Even if someone was in Kazan not long ago he’ll definitely find many new good things for them today. And don’t forget to include in your program this sight – Sviyazhsk Grad, middle-age island-fortress, which was reconstructed not long ago. Kazan is in the UNESCO World Heritage Cities list.
“Kazan Arena” is the universal football stadium of the highest Superior 4th category by UEFA rating. It is a home stadium for the main football club of Kazan – “Rubin”. The stadium was officially opened on 14 June 2013 and comparing to “Zenit Arena” this stadium was built just for 3 years! The stadium is located on 32 hectares in the center of the capital of Tatarstan, with 4500 car parking places. There are 4 levels in the stadium with 82 VIP-boxes from 8 to 24 seats each on the 3rd and 4th levels. There is a beautiful restaurant “Palladium” (700 sq. m) for 300 seats on the top floor, there is a great “1958” sports bar (800 sq. m). There are 230 snack points. Wi-Fi throughout the stadium was provided to the fans here for the first time in Russia.
Matches of FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 and FIFA World football Cup 2018 will be held here. At the same time such big events as Summer Universiade 2013 and the World Aquatic Championships 2015 have been held here. A funny fact: “Kazan Arena” is the only football stadium in the world which can be proud of… 12 world records in swimming timed here!
